Discovered by virtue of Facebook in 2020. Listened just the once to the songs on the E.P. by Ruth.. Ordered immediately.. My kind of music.. I listen to Sandy Denny, Joni Mitchell, Karine Polwart,Nick Drake to name but a few..Ruth's music like those I have just mentioned easily sits with the above... Beautiful and thoughtful lyrics, excellent melody and perfect arrangement... I can't wait for her forthcoming album, it can't come soon enough..
I "Found" Ruth thru Facebook, intrigued I downloaded the free songs and had no difficulty buying this CD as soon as I heard the downloads. My senses were giddy with the wonderful songs and Ruth's exquisite voice. Emotionally complex, the songs are so relaxing but invigorating and call out to be listened to. I am so glad that I took that initial decision and this CD has a permanent place on my CD player.
I absolutely adore this music. I don't know which genre it belongs to or have anything 'academic' or musically intelligent to say.... it stirs my soul and speaks to my heart.
Stumbled upon this artist and wow Im so glad I did.
