MEET RUTH
Thank you so much for visiting my store. You’ll find my music as a singer-songwriter, guitarist and pianist here. Also my books – both non-fiction and fiction.
I’m sadly no longer well enough to play and perform my music due to deteriorating ill health from Myalgic Encephalomyelitis and other chronic illnesses. But there is better news. I do have songs from my archive – spanning across four decades – to share with you. So far I’ve released five CDs and more music is coming. All the painted artwork you can see has been commissioned from photos and video images taken twenty-five years ago – when I was still playing and performing.
Being unable to create and play music was a huge loss for me. I didn’t know if I could find a new outlet for my creativity which I was able to manage. It took some time, but I finally turned to another of my great passions – fiction. In January 2025, after years of study and work, my debut, high-stakes thriller – Dead Liar – was released to rave reviews. It was a dream come true. Readers love the book describing it as a high-stakes, thrill-ride, and a gripping page-turner. I’m thrilled about that!

Ruth Nina Welsh lives in Northamptonshire, in the UK. She began writing songs in her late teens after becoming severely ill with Myalgic Encephalomyelitis. Creativity has been her strength and solace as a musician and writer living with multiple chronic illnesses for over four decades. She has been a piano teacher, practised as a counsellor and coach, published self-help articles and a book as a freelance writer and released six music CDs. Ruth’s debut thriller - Dead Liar - was released to rave reviews in January 2025. At home all the time now, Ruth lives for her family and friends, her creative world, and her gorgeous garden view.
